Doug is a three-sport athlete at Lincoln High School. He is a two-year varsity starter (pitcher and infield) and letter winner. His combined sophomore/junior ERA is 4.26 with 65 strikeouts in 72 innings pitched. In 2000, Doug hit .314 with one homerun and had a .913 fielding percentage at second base.

Doug is a two-year varsity football letter winner and was named 1999 All State Honorable Mention at quarterback as a junior. He is a one-year varsity letter winner in basketball. Doug is a three-year academic letter winner and is a member of the National Honor Society. He is listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students and received the St. Maria Goretti Youth Distinction Award in February.

Black Sox Outlook: Doug will mainly come out of the bull pen as a longer reliever. Throws good off-speed and curve ball.
