12/14/2006 – Four Razorbacks Ranked Among Best in
Nation.
Razorback
Baseball is proud to announce that four of its players have been ranked among
the nations best for the 2007 Class. Dean
Kiekhefer, Neil Holland, Joe Devine, and Stewart Ijames have all been ranked
among the Top-700 nationally by Perfect Game Crosschecker.com. Perfect Game Crosschecker.com is run by
Perfect Game. Perfect Game events
produced 533 Major League draft picks last year alone, and well over 1,000
college players. Just in the past three years PG events have had over 1,300
draft picks including 66 first round selections. 155 former PG attendees were
on the 8 teams that played in the NCAA DI World Series last year. The Major
Leagues are starting to fill up with former PG players. It has been estimated
by year 2010 more than one half of all Major League players will be Perfect
Game alumni.
Perfect Game is the leader in amateur baseball scouting and is
recognized by the MLB and many of the top collegiate programs in the country as
the number one source for player exposure.
Dean is
currently ranked 514th overall nationally. Dean is ranked 55th nationally as
a LHP and #1 in the state of Kentucky. Dean closed out the 2006 season with a 9-0
record through 58 innings of work. Dean
struck-out 119 and walked 13 with an ERA of 0.24. He was named to the All-District, All-Region,
2nd-Team All-Metro, and Kentucky West Junior All-Star teams. Dean has signed to play at the University of Louisville
Neil is currently ranked 698th
overall nationally. Neil is ranked 249th
nationally as a RHP and 4th in Kentucky. He closed out the 2006 season with a 7-2
record. Neil struck-out 69 and walked 17
with an ERA of 1.71. He was named to the
All-District, All-Region, and Kentucky West Junior All-Star teams. Neil was also rated the 3rd best
2007 prospect at the 2006 Perfect Game Pitcher/Catcher Showcase. Neil has signed to play at the University of Louisville.
Joe is currently ranked 584th
overall nationally. Joe is ranked 200th
nationally as a RHP and 2nd in Kentucky. He closed out the 2006 season with a 5-1
record through 31 innings of work. Joe
struck-out 31 and walked eight with an ERA of 0.90. Joe was rated the 2nd best 2007
prospect at the 2006 Perfect Game Pitcher/Catcher Showcase. Joe has signed to play the University of Louisville.
Stewart is ranked 325th
overall nationally. Stewart is ranked 60th
nationally as an OF and 2nd in Kentucky. Stewart has signed to play at the University of Louisville.
The Razorbacks had seven nationally
ranked players on the 2006 roster.
08/01/2006 – Razorbacks Finish Eighth in
NABF Senior World Series
Razorback Baseball completed the 2006 season by
finishing 8th at the NABF Senior World Series in Jackson,
MS. Facing some of the best teams in the nation,
the Razorbacks finished pool play (2-2) to place eighth in the sixteen-team
field. The Razorbacks showed that they
had one of the strongest pitching and defensive teams in the tournament by
holding their opponents to a combined seven runs through the four games.
The Razorbacks started
tournament play by defeating the Maple Zone Diamonds out of Delaware (2-0). The Diamonds came into the game with a (20-4)
record. Dean Kiekhefer took the mound
for the Razorbacks allowing no runs on only four hits while striking out six
through 5 2/3 innings. Joe Devine picked
up the save for the Razorbacks by shutting out the Diamonds in the last 1 1/3
innings. Offensively, the Razorbacks
were led by Kiley Jones and Bryan Chestnut who both were (1-2) with 1 RBI.
The Razorbacks lost to the
Huntington Hounds out of West
Virginia in game two (4-3). The Huntington Hounds came into the game with
a (36-18) record The Razorbacks started Kaskaskia College
signee and Shelbyville
High School standout
Jason Sullivan on the mound. Jason
pitched an impressive five innings allowing no runs on two hits and striking
out four before having to be replaced in the sixth. Joe Devine allowed three runs (two earned) in
the sixth to pick up the loss.
Offensively, the Razorbacks were led by Neil Holland (1-2) 1 RBI and
Dean Kiekhefer (1-3).
In Game three, the Razorbacks
lost to the New York Nine out of New
York (3-2) in eight innings. The New York Nine came into the game with a
(27-14) record. Southeast Missouri
State signee Derek Hayden
took the mound for the Razorbacks. Derek
allowed two runs on three hits through 4 1/3 innings. Neil Holland picked up the loss by allowing
one run on four hits striking out three through 3 1/3 innings. Offensively, the Razorbacks were led by Anton
Garcia who was (2-3) with a homerun, two runs and one RBI.
The Razorbacks defeated the
undefeated Youth Service League out of New
York in game four (2-0). The Youth Service League came into the game
with a (49-17) record. University of Kentucky
signee Jason Chowning took the mound for the Razorbacks. Jason pitched one of his best games of the
season shutting out the high powered offense of the Youth Service League with a
complete game shutout. Jason finished
the game allowing no runs on three hits and eight strikeouts. Offensively, the Razorbacks were led by Dean Kiekhefer
(1-2), Depauw University
signee Sam Linette (1-3) with a double and run scored, and Mid-Continent College
signee Logan Neal (1-3).
09/22/2006 – The Razorbacks completed the 2006 season with
a (23-13) record with championships in the 16-Team Razorback Showcase, 32-Team
Fun-In-The-Sun Showcase, and NABF Midwest Regional Championships. The Razorbacks concluded their season with an
eighth place finish at the NABF Senior World Series in Jackson, MS. The Razorbacks finished the 2006 season with
an (18-6) record in tournament play. The
Razorback offense combined to hit (.286) overall and (.307) with aluminum
against some of the best teams in the nation.
Leading the way for the Razorbacks offensively were Anton Garcia
(Louisville Eastern, KY Texarkana College), Jason Chowning (Louisville Eastern,
KY University of Kentucky), Neil Holland (Owensboro Catholic, KY University of
Louisville), and Jeff Arnold (Louisville Male, KY University of Louisville). On the mound, the Razorback pitching staff
showed that it was one of the best pitching staffs in the Midwest
with a 2.75 ERA as a team. Leading the
Razorbacks on the mound were Derek Hayden (Shelbyville, IL Southeast Missouri
State University), Dean Kiekhefer (Oldham County, KY University of Louisville),
Jason Sullivan (Shelbyville, IL Kaskaskia College), Jason Chowning (Louisville
Eastern, KY University of Kentucky), Morgan Coombs (West Vigo, IN Lincoln Trail
College), Neil Holland (Owensboro Catholic University of Louisville), and Joe Devine (Owensboro Catholic, KY University

09/11/2006 – 2004 Razorback and Olney Central
College standout Phillip
Britton helped lead the Danville Braves (40-27) to the 2006 Appalachian League
Championship. Phillip hit .333 for the
Braves during the championship series.
He closed the season hitting .296 with 34 runs, 18 doubles, seven
homeruns, and 35 RBI’s. Phillip finished
the season among the Top-20 in the Appalachian League hitting leaders in
batting average 17th (.296), runs 20th (34), hits 9th
(66), doubles 3rd (18), homeruns 9th (7), and RBI’s 11th
(35). Phillip was selected by the
Atlanta Braves in the 36th Round of the 2004 MLB Amateur Draft. Danville
is the Rookie Affiliation of the Atlanta Braves. Congratulations Phillip.
09/11/2006 – 2005 Razorback and Marion High School
standout Sean Finn helped lead the Spokane,
WA Riverhawks (28-14) to the
regular season championship of the West Coast Collegiate League. Sean finished the season (1-2) with 25
strikeouts and 3.58 ERA through 27.2 inning of work. Sean will be a sophomore at the University of Dayton.

09/11/2006 – 2005 Razorback and Triad High
School standout Kevin Hoef helped lead the Quincy
Gems (24-22) in the Central Illinois Collegiate League. Kevin hit .280 with three doubles for the
Gems. Kevin will be a sophomore at the University of Iowa.
09/11/2006 - Congratulations to the following players who
ended the 2006 season with some of the best single season numbers in the
history of the Black Sox Baseball organization.
Dean Kiekhefer - Dean finished
the season among the best ever with (43) strikeouts sixth, (4) wins seventh,
and (1.80) ERA seventh.
Jason Chowning – Jason
finished the season among the best ever with (41) strikeouts eighth.
Derek Hayden – Derek finished
the season among the best ever with an (1.69) ERA fourth.

Win NABF Mid-West Regional Championship
Razorback Baseball captured the 2006 NABF Mi-West Regional Championships
with a (4-3) nine inning win over the Indiana Yankees to earn a spot in the
2006 NABF Senior World Series in Jackson, MS.
The Razorbacks ran through the tournament with a perfect (4-0)
record.
The Razorbacks defeated
American National West out of Missouri
in game one (7-1). Kaskaskia College
signee Jason Sullivan allowed no earned runs, one hit while striking out eight
in the win. Offensively, the Razorbacks
were led by Western Kentucky University
signee Jared Johnson (1-3) 2 RBI’s, University
of Louisville signee (2-4) one run,
Neil Holland (1-3) one RBI, and Texarkana
College signee Anton
Garcia (1-2) one RBI.
The Razorbacks defeated the
Topeka Stars out of Kansas
in game two (4-1). Dean Kiekhefer picked
up the win for the Razorbacks by pitching six innings allowing one earned run
and six hits while striking out ten.
Aaron Deatherage picked up the save for the Razorbacks by shutting out
the Stars in the seventh with two strikeouts.
Offensively, the Razorbacks were led by
MLB draft pick and Olney Central signee Michael Lane (2-4) one RBI, University of Kentucky signee Jason Chowning (1-3),
and Neil Holland (1-3) one run scored.
In game three, the Razorbacks
defeated Bloomington Normal, IL Gold (5-2) to advance to the championship
game. University of Kentucky
signee Jason Chowning picked up the win by allowing two earned runs and four
hits over six innings while striking out ten.
Southeast Missouri State
University signee Derek
Hayden picked up the save for the Razorbacks by shutting out the Gold in the
seventh while striking out one.
The Razorbacks captured the

32-Team Fun In The Sun Championship
The Razorbacks captured the 32-team Fun In The Sun
tournament with a (4-1) win over the White
Sox Academy
out of Chicago, IL.
The Fun In The Sun tournament is one of the largest tournaments in the
Midwest and many of the top teams throughout the Midwest
were competing.
The Razorbacks won game one
(5-4) over the St. Louis Recruits out of Missouri. The Recruits would go one to place second at
the Triple Crown National Championships in Florida later this summer. Kaskaskia
College recruit Jason
Sullivan picked up the win on the mound for the Razorbacks. Jason pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed three
runs (none earned) on five hits while striking out five. Dean Kiekhefer pitched 1 1/3 innings allowing
one earned run on one hit while striking out one. Lincoln
Trail College
signee Morgan Coombs picked up the save by pitching 1/3 of an inning with one
strikeout. Offensively, the Razorbacks
were led by Union College signee Trey Wheeler (1-3), University of Kentucky
signee Jason Chowning (2-3) one run scored, University of Louisville signee
Jeff Arnold (1-3), Depauw University signee Sam Linette (1-3) one RBI, Kiley
Jones (1-2) two RBI’s, and Neil Holland (1-3) one run scored one RBI.
In game two, the Razorbacks
defeated the Rockford Hitmen out of Illinois
(4-2). The Hitmen would go on to play in
the CABA World Series. Neil Holland
picked up the win for the Razorbacks by pitching four innings allowing one
earned run and three hits while striking out four. Morgan Coombs pitched the final three innings
allowing one run (unearned) and one hit while striking out six. Offensively, the Razorbacks were led by
Western Kentucky University signee Jared Johnson (2-4) one RBI, Jason Chowning
(1-3), University of Louisville signee Jeff Arnold (1-2), Depauw University
signee Sam Linette (2-3) one run scored, and Texarkana College signee Anton
Garcia (3-3) one run scored one RBI.
The Razorbacks defeated the Illinois Magic out of Illinois in game three (4-3). Jason Chowning pitched the first five innings
for the Razorbacks allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and four
strikeouts. Morgan Coombs picked up the
win by pitching the last two innings allowing no runs on no hits with two
strikeouts. Offensively, the Razorbacks
were led by Jeff Arnold (2-4), Kiley Jones (1-2) one RBI, and Anton Garcia

semi-final game over the Lombard Lightning out of Illinois (8-0) in five innings. Aaron Deatherage picked up the win on the

07/05/2006 - Razorbacks Win 16-Team Razorback
Showcase Championship
The Razorbacks won
the prestigious 16-Team Razorback Showcase with a (14-2) six innings win over
the Brentwood Bulldogs out of Tennessee. The Bulldogs would go on to finish the season
(40-18). Over 200 collegiate signees and
15 MLB draft picks have competed in this tournament since its inception three
years ago.
The Razorbacks won game one
(27-10) over the Franklin Savings A’s out of Ohio.
In one of the strangest games of the year, the Razorbacks jumped out to
a (3-0) lead in the top of the first inning to see the A’s respond with eight
runs in the bottom of the first. Kaskaskia College signee Jason Sullivan struggled
while giving up eight runs (four earned) and five hits in 2/3 of a inning. Lincoln
Trail College
signee Morgan Coombs pitched the final 6 1/3 innings allowing two runs (none
earned) and two hits while striking out four.
Offensively, the Razorbacks set team records for runs (27), RBI’s (19),
and hits (21) in the win. Leading theway
for the Razorbacks were Texarkana College signee Anton Garcia (4-4) four runs
scored one RBI, Neil Holland (3-5) two runs scored four RBI’s, Kiley Jones
(1-3) three RBI’s, University of Kentucky signee Jason Chowning (3-6) two runs

The Razorbacks won game two
over the Wichita Gators out of Kansas
(4-3). The Gators came into the game
with a (30-2) record. The Gators would
go on to win the NBC Hap Dumont World Series later in the season. Dean Kiekhefer picked up the win on the mound
for the Razorbacks. Dean allowed three
earned runs on eight hits while striking out thirteen. Offensively, the Razorbacks were led by Jared
Johnson (1-3) one run scored one RBI, Jason Chowning (1-3), Bryan Chestnut
(1-1) on run scored, and Anton Garcia (1-2) two runs scored.
The Razorbacks won game three
(14-1) over the Southside Panthers out of Indiana.
Southeast Missouri State
signee Derek Hayden picked up the win pitching four innings allowing no runs on
two hits while striking out five. Lincoln Trail College
signee Adam Klatka picked up the save shutting out the Panthers in one inning
with two strikeouts. Offensively, the
Razorbacks were led by Trey Wheeler (4-4) four runs scored two RBI’s, Jason
Chowning (3-4) two runs scored two RBI’s, Jeff Arnold (3-4) two runs scored
three RBI’s, Kiley Jones (2-4) two runs scored three RBI’s, Sam Linette (3-3)
three RBI’s, and Jason Payne (1-1) one RBI.
The Razorbacks won game four
(10-0) over the CRSI Redhawks out of Ohio. Neil Holland picked up the win on the mound
by pitching five innings and allowing no runs on one hit while striking out
three. Offensively, the Razorbacks were
led by Trey Wheeler (1-3) one run scored, Jason Chowning (1-3) one RBI, Jeff
Arnold (3-3) two runs scored, Sam Linette (2-2) two runs scored, Bryan Chestnut
(2-3) one run scored two RBI’s, and Anton Garcia (1-2) two runs scored, two
RBI’s.
The Razorbacks won the
championship game over the Brentwood Bulldogs out of Tennessee (14-2). Jason Chowning picked up the win on the mound
for the Razorbacks pitching six innings while allowing two earned runs and

05/28/2006 – 2004 Razorback and Jeffersonville High School standout Brad Nickles
completed his sophomore season at Indiana University Southeast (30-26) with a
4.59 E.R.A. through 86.1 innings of work.
Brad finished the season hitting .296 for the Grenadiers.

standout Eric Allen completed the 2006 season hitting .349 with 16 homeruns and

University (27-21). He finished second in homeruns and
twenty-third in R.B.I.’s nationally in the NJCAA Division II.

School standout Alex Love has been named to the
NJCAA Region 24 and GRAC All-Conference first teams. Alex completed the 2006 season 11-0 with a

in NJCAA. Alex has signed to play at
Division II power Delta

Andy is coming off a junior season in which he was named 1st-Team

helped lead Effingham to a 22-12 record in 2004. Andy closed out his junior season with a 5-1

Baseball is proud to announce the addition of Stewart Ijames to the 2005 Razorback
roster. Stewart is a sophomore outfielder at Owensboro
Catholic High
School in Owensboro,
KY. Stewart is a two-year
varsity starter and helped lead Owensboro Catholic to the 2004 District and
Regional Championships and 27-8 record. Stewart is coming off consecutive
.400 plus season offensively. Stewart completed the 2004 season batting
.400 after hitting .435 as an eighth-grader. He was named to the 2004
1st-Team All-District and All-Region teams. Stewart has good power and can
hit to all fields. He also has solid speed 7.1sec 60m. Stewart will
play the corner outfield for us this summer while hitting in the middle of the
order. Stewart is considered one of the best up and coming sophomores in Kentucky.

R.B.I.'s to help lead the Trojans. Jared was an All-Area and All-District
player in 2003. He was also selected the Defensive Player-of-the-Year in
2003 for North Hardin. In 2004, Jared
was selected to the All-Area, All-District and All-Region team while being
named the North Hardin Team MVP and "Sophomore Player-of-the Year"
for the 5th-Region. Jared is a solid defensive catcher with a 1.9-2.0
pop.

Baseball is proud to announce the addition of Joe Dailey to the 2005
roster. Joe is a senior at Eastern
High School in Louisville, KY.
Joe will be entering his third season as starter for the Eagles in 2005.
Joe has helped lead the Eagles to 54 wins over the past seasons while batting
..381 in 2003 and .340 in 2004. Joe led the Eagles in 2004 in at bats
(143), runs (32), doubles (12), and innings played (255) while being named to
the 7th-Region Junior All-Star Game in 2004. The Eagles (27-12) closed
out the 2003 season ranked 14th in the final KHSAA State Baseball Poll.
Joe closed out the 2003 season capturing single season school records in at
bats (146), singles (41), sacrifices (13), and innings played (274) while being
named to the All 28th District team. Joe is very solid defensively with
good speed 6.9/60m. He is currently being recruited by Bellarmine University
and St. Catharine's among others.

Baseball is proud to announce the addition of Andy Panarelli to the 2005
roster. Andy is a junior at Hopkins
County Central
High School in Hopkinsville, KY.
Andy was a All-District Tournament team player in 2004. Andy is an up and
coming player in western Kentucky.
He is a versatile player who could see time in the outfield, infield, and on
the mound for the Razorbacks in 2005. He possesses good speed 6.9/60m and
a live arm at 86mph. He closed out the 2004 season with a 2.70 E.R.A.
while helping lead Hopkins County Central to a school record seven consecutive
wins and 19-7 record overall. Andy will be an asset based on his
versatility. He has the potential to be both a tournament starter on the
mound and a top-level position player.

Baseball is a proud to announce the addition of the Indiana Outlaws to the 2005
summer schedule. We have scheduled the Indiana Outlaws (formerly known as
the Evansville Outlaws) for a nine inning ballgame on July 12th at the Outlaws
stadium in Chandler, IN. The Outlaws are a semi-pro team
that competes under the N.A.B.F. unlimited division. They completed the
2004 season 47-22 while capturing the Jim Hoffman Memorial Invitational, USBC
World Series, and N.A.B.F.
Ohio Valley
Regional Championships. The Outlaws finished the summer by placing fifth
at the N.A.B.F. Unlimited World Series. The Outlaws will add another
top-level program to our 2005 summer schedule. All game admission
proceeds will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association as part of the the
Outlaws "MDA Night". It will be a great challenge for our team
as we face one of the strongest semi-pro teams in the nation.

Baseball is proud to announce the addition of James Denton to the 2005
Razorback Roster. James is a 6'4 230 senior right-handed pitcher from Triad High School
in Troy, IL.
James was a 2004 All-Conference selection for Triad in 2004. He completed
the season 7-2 on the mound with an E.R.A. of 2.67 through 55 innings of
work. James held the opposition to a .227 in 2004. James will have
the opportunity to earn a spot in our tournament rotation in

Razorback and Black Sox player Kalen Gibson has been named to the pre-season
All-SEC Third Team as a pitcher. Kalen completed the 2004 season 5-3 with
a 5.06 E.R.A. over 74.2 innings as the Friday night starter for the
Wildcats. Kalen was twice named the SEC Pitcher-of-the-Week in 2004 with
wins over #6 South Carolina and at #7 Auburn.

Razorbacks are proud to announce the addition of Wesley Cowan to the 2005
Razorback Roster. Wesley comes to us from Hopkinsville
High School in Hopkinsville, KY.
Wesley is a 6'0 195 senior catcher/outfielder. He is a two-time
All-Second Region selection while hitting .440 in 2004 and .415 in 2003.
He completed his junior season at Hopkinsville
by being named to the Kentucky Junior West All-Star team. Wesley is also
a standout on the football field. He has been chosen as an All-Conference
linebacker in 2003 and 2004. He completed this season being named Third
Team All-State as a linebacker. Wesley is a player who can hit for
average with solid gap power. He is a plus runner for a catcher also (7.1
/ 60m). Wesley will team up with returning Razorback and Wabash Valley
College bound Mike
Shelburne to form one of the best catching combinations in the Tri-State
area. Along with catching, Wesley will also see time in the corner
outfield and as a designated hitter for the Razorbacks in 2005.

Razorbacks are proud to announce the addition of Phillip Whitaker to the 2005
Razorback roster. Phillip is a junior at University
Heights Academy in Hopkinsville, KY.
Phillip was considered one of the premier sophomore's in western Kentucky in 2004.
He finished the 2004 high school season batting .580 out of the lead-off
spot. On the mound, Whitaker is a 6'0 175 pound right-hander who pitches
in the 83-85mph range. He finished the 2004 season with a 2.31 ERA.
Phillip is a base stealing threat with 6.9 / 60m speed. He will see time
at shortstop and second base for the Razorbacks. On the mound, Phillip
could work his way into being a tournament starter for us in 2005.

Razorback roster. Nathan is a senior at Olney
High School in Olney, IL.
Nathan is the brother of former 2003 Razorback Phillip Britton (Olney Central
Junior College / University of Kentucky).
Nathan completed the 2004 high school season by hitting .336 out of the
three/four hole. He was also named to the SIBCA Junior All-Star
Team. Nathan will see time at first and third base for the Razorbacks in
2005. Nathan is very versatile defensively and is an accomplished
offensive threat.

Razorback roster. Trey is a junior at Christian
County High
School in Hopkinsville, KY and is one of the premier up-and-coming hitters in
western Kentucky..
He helped lead Christian
County to the 2004
Kentucky Baseball State Championship. Trey finished his sophomore season
by leading the Colonels with a .426 average from the left-side while batting
out of the three hole. He was named the Offensive Player-of-the-Year for
the Colonels. Trey will see time at first base, right field, and has the
potential to see some time on the mound for the Razorbacks in 2005.

Mike closed out the 2004 high school season by hitting .314 in an injury shortened

summer season when he hit .351 out of the four slot against top level

to continue his collegiate career at Division I Junior College power Olney Central
College. Alex
closed out the 2004 high school season being named to the SIBCA Junior All-Star
Team. Alex finished his first season with the Razorbacks by leading a
star-studded pitching staff with a single-season record 0.98 ERA. Olney
Central completed the 2004 regular season ranked 19th in the nation with a
42-12 record. This was Coach Conley's 21st straight winning season.
Olney Central has won 40+ games in seven of the last eight seasons.

Central, IN High School standout pitcher/outfielder Marc Harmon has signed to
continue his collegiate career at Division I Murray State University.
Marc signed during the early signing period with the Racers of the Ohio Valley
Conference. Sean closed out the 2004 high school season as a First-Team
Hoosier Hills All-Conference selection by batting .404 and finishing with a 7-1
record and 2.50 ERA on the mound. Coach McDonald had this to say about
Marc. "Marc is an outstanding young man who will fit into our
program very well," McDonald said. "He's a strong player with a live
arm. I think he'll be very successful here at Murray State
in Division I baseball."

University. Sean signed during the early signing period with the Flyers
of the Atlantic 10 Conference. Sean closed out the 2004 high school as

chosen to the Illinois All-South Junior Baseball Team. Sean finished his

High School standout Dustin Turner has signed to play baseball at Division I
Junior College Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis, TN.
Dustin is the 13th Razorback player to sign a college scholarship in
2004. Dustin was a two-time All-District selection in baseball in helping
lead Greenwood
behind the plate. Southwest Tennessee Community College finished the 2004
season as champions of the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association
Region VII tournament while finishing 40-20 overall.. The Saluki's have
won 30 or more games the past five seasons. Congratulations Dustin and

07/20/2004 - The
Razorbacks finished 3rd in the U-18 Indiana Cup hosted by Roudtrippers Baseball
of Indianapolis, IN. The Razorbacks won their division
by finishing 3-1 in pool play. The Razorbacks picked up wins over the
Indiana Mustangs 17's (11-3), Indiana Cardinals (4-0), and Ohio Warhawks
(5-2). The Razorbacks were defeated in the semi-finals by the Indiana
Mustangs 18's by a score of 3-2 in 9 innings.
07/13/2004 - The
Razorbacks finished 3rd in the 16-Team 2004 Paul Bunyan Wooden Bat
Classic. The Razorbacks finished the weekend 4-1 with wins over
Evansville Babe Ruth (3-1), Southern Illinois Aces (5-3), Indiana Prospects

Razorbacks finished second in the seven state 12-team Razorback Showcase.
Elite travel teams from Illinois, Kentucky, Colorado, Minnesota, Alabama, Indiana, and Tennessee
competed in the tournament. The Razorbacks finished 4-1 in pool play with
wins over the Crowther, IL Cougars (5-1), Ashland, KY Athletics (7-2), 2003
American Legion Southeast Regional Runner-Up Tuscaloosa, AL Post 34 (40-12 in
2003) (9-7), and 2003 Babe Ruth National Champion Hammond, IN Chiefs (49-8-1 in
2003) (8-2). The Razorbacks opened up the tournament with a (5-1) win
over the Crowther, IL Cougars. Terre Haute North standout and S.E.
Illinois signee Tim Wilson allowed five hits while striking out nine and
walking two in the complete game win. Eric Allen and Jeff Harp connected
on homeruns to lead the Razorbacks offensively. In the second game, the
Razorbacks fell 2-1 to the Upper Deck, IL Cougars. Cory Julian picked up
the loss for the Razorbacks. In the third game, P.J. Thomas held the
Athletics (57-12 in 2003) to four hits while striking out nine and walking one.

win situation, the Razorbacks faced the 2003 Babe Ruth National Champion
Hammond, IN Chiefs. Alex Love improved to (2-0) on the mound for the
Razorbacks. Alex allowed two runs on five hits while striking out seven and
walking three to pick up the win. Jeff Harp (2-4) homered for the
Razorbacks. Facing Top Tier, IL and their sixteen Division I signees in
the finals, the Razorbacks spotted Top Tier six runs over the first three
innings before falling (6-4). Sean Finn pitched two scoreless innings of
relief. Brad Nickles led the Razorbacks offensively by going (1-3) with
two R.B.I.'s.
06/25/2004 - The Razorbacks
finished second in the 2004 Shoeless Joe Baseball Classic. The Razorbacks
rallied after Friday nights upset 4-3 loss to the Yankees to win three
consecutive games by outscoring their opposition 31-8. The Razorbacks
picked up a doubleheader sweep of a powerful Cincinnati, OH
Bulls team by scores of 6-4 and 14-3. P.J. Thomas picked up his first win
of the season in the opener. Topping out over 90mph, P.J. held the Bulls
to four hits over five innings of work. Brad Nickles pitched the final
1.2 innings while striking out five. Floyd Central standout and Indiana University signee Tyler Cox (2-4) and
Jeff Harp (2-3) led the Razorbacks offensively. Warren Central standout
and Oakland City signee Chris Seigert picked up his
first win allowing 2 hits over five innings in the 14-3 win. Dustin
Turner and Nate Nevin connected on homeruns for the Razorbacks. The
Razorbacks captured a spot in the tournament finals with a 11-1 win over the
Northside Blues. Derek Dever picked up his first win while allowing one run
on two hits over five innings. Eric Allen homered and Mike Shelburne
finished the game (2-3) for the Razorbacks. The Razorbacks would fall in
the finals to a solid Ottawa,
OH team. Leading 4-1 in the
sixth, the Fighting 53rd collected six hits including a three run homerun to
take a 9-4 advantage. The Razorbacks would rally for two in the seventh
before ending the game with a bases loaded groundout.
06/22/2004 - The Razorbacks
traveled to Amelia, OH to take on the 2003 Connie Mack National
Runner-Up Midland Redskins and 2003 CABA National Runner-Up Midland Indians in
doubleheaders. The Razorbacks jumped out early on the Redskins (16-1) 3-0
in the first game before falling 11-6. Facing Bradley Clark, the 12th
ranked 2005 graduate by Baseball America, the Razorbacks collected three runs
on three hits over two innings to knock Clark out of the game. In the
second game, the Razorbacks fell 9-7 to the Redskins on a bases loaded game
ending double play. The Razorbacks rallied for six runs after falling
behind 8-1. The Razorbacks collected 12 hits in the game led by Nate
Nevin, (3-3), Jeffersonville
standout and Indiana Southeast signee Brad Nickles, (2-4), Madisonville North
standout and John A. Logan signee Jeff Harp (2-2), and Floyd Central standout
Eric Allen (2-4). The Razorbacks batted .411 as a team against the
Redskins. The Razorbacks would split with the Indians with a (8-7) win in
the opener and a (8-7) loss in nine innings to close out the four game road
trip. Alex Love, a Daviess County standout and Wabash Valley
signee picked up his first win of the summer with five solid innings of
relief. Love allowed one run on four hits while picking up the win.

2004. In the second game of the doubleheader, the Razorbacks fell
5-4. Brad Nickles took the loss the the Razorbacks.

the season in the Semi-Finals of the Jeffersonville
4A Baseball Sectional. Brad struck-out ten in a 1-0 win over Jennings County, IN.

- 2004 Razorback and Harrisburg, IL standout Evan Denbow will help lead Harrisburg High School
in the Illinois A Baseball State Semi-Finals against Wilmington, IL.
Evan is 10-3 on the mound for the Bulldogs this season. Evan has pitched
61 innings allowing 46 hits while striking out 55 and walking 24 with an E.R.A.
of 3.21.

pitched 8 2/3 innings of one hit ball in an 8-0 win over the #7 ranked Auburn
Tigers on Thursday. Kentucky
(14-5) has moved Kalen out of the bullpen where he led the Wildcats as a true
freshman in 2003 to a weekend starter. The shutout was the first at home
for the Tigers since 1998. A span of 190 games. For the season,
Kalen is 2-0 with 28 strikeouts over 30.2 innings of work. More info.

Razorbacks are proud to announce the addition of Andy Whorton to the 2004
roster. Andy is a senior outfielder/first baseman at Marion High School
in Marion, IL. Andy finished the 2003 high school
season batting .369 with one homerun, one triple, five doubles, and 17 R.B.I.'s
for the Wildcats while being named to the Southern Illinois Baseball Coaches
Association Junior All-Star team. Andy continued to excel in the summer
of 2003 with Marion American Legion Post 147. Andy completed the 2003
summer season batting .354 with six homeruns, and 28 R.B.I.'s while earning
offensive player of the year and American Legion 25th District All-Star
honors. Andy has signed to play baseball at Division I Junior College

announced they will be hosting a Perfect Game Showcase on July1st, 2004 at the University of Southern Indiana. This showcase
will be held prior to the Razorback Showcase Tournament on July 2nd -
4th. Perfect Game Baseball is one of the premier scouting services in the
nation. Perfect Game showcase reports are viewed by all 30 MLB scouting
departments as well as over 1200 college/universities nation-wide. In
2003 alone, 409 former Perfect Game participants were selected in the MLB
Amateur Draft. This showcase will give all interested 2005, 2006, 2007,
2008 graduates a chance to be evaluated. By attending a Perfect Game
Showcase, players have the opportunity to earn the right to be ranked in
Baseball America's

of the Top-70 left-handed pitchers in the nation. Cory, a Tecumseh
standout and All-State honoree was ranked the 28th best left-handed pitcher in
the nation. Cory attended the Team One North Showcase at Notre Dame University last July. Cory has
recently signed with the University
of Evansville. In
2003, Cory helped lead Tecumseh to the 1A Indiana Baseball State
Championship. He finished the season 8-1 with 121 K's and an ERA of

- 2003 Razorback Ronnie Harris has signed to play at Brescia University
next season. Ronnie led the Razorbacks in innings pitched in 2002 while
compiling a 3-3 record on the mound. Ronnie is currently 2-0 on the mound
this summer with a .250 AVG. Brescia
competes in the NAIA and is a member of the KIAC. Brescia finished the 2003 season 30-28

Razorbacks captured their second tournament championship of 2003 by winning the
10 team Paul Bunyan Wooden Bat Classic. The Razorbacks advanced to the
championship game with a perfect record of 5-0 in pool play. The
Razorbacks defeated the 2002 champion Bloomington,
IN Wizards and St. Louis draft pick T.J. Brewer 3-2 in eight
innings. Corey Lewis (Missouri Baptist signee) and Aaron Clark (University of Southern Indiana signee) combined to
strikeout eight and walk one in the victory. The Razorbacks defeated
Kiko, OH (4-3), Evansville Tanners (9-4), Midwest Sooners, IL (3-1), Comair
Jets, KY (4-3), and the Indiana Yankees Jr. (7-0 FF) to advance to the finals.

is a Division II school located in Evansville,
IN. Southern
Indiana competes in the GLVC conference. Congratulations

06/23/2003 - The Razorbacks
captured their first tournament championship of the 2003 season on Sunday
06/22/2003. The Razorbacks defeated the Indiana Bulls 2-1 to win the 2003
Shoeless Joe Baseball Classic tournament. Both the Razorbacks and Bulls
advanced to the finals with perfect 4-0 records in pool play. The
Razorbacks defeated Boulder, CO. (4-2), Evansville Tanners (6-1), Clarksville, TN (4-0),
and Franklin, TN (18-5) to advance to the finals.
This is the first time the Razorbacks have captured this tournament
championship. Teams from Colorado, Indiana, Missouri, Tennessee, and Ohio
competed in this three day tournament.

Aaron Johnson (Webster County), Bryce Gibson (Webster County),

- The Atlanta Braves in conjunction with Indiana
Southeast University
will be holding a MLB try-out on June 13, 2003 at 10:00am at Indiana Southeast
University.
Registration will start at 9:00am. Indiana Southeast Head Coach Rick Parr
has invited the Razorback players down to participate in this try-out. If
you are interested in going, please call me asap so that any players interested
can contact each other regarding travel plans. I will not be able to

- 2003 Razorback Drew Sellers helped lead Tecumseh into the 1A Sectional finals
Saturday morning 06/07/2003 with three homeruns against Northeast Dubois.
Drew connected on his third homerun of the game in the bottom of the ninth to
win it for the Braves. Drew finished the game with seven R.B.I.'s in the
8-7 win.

All-Region 2 team. Brock went 7-12 during the Region 2 tournament with

showed off his speed by stealing a base and running down a sure double in the

Razorbacks are proud to announce the addition of Alex Sherfick to the 2003
roster. Alex is a junior at Loogootee
High School in Loogootee, IN.
Alex is currently 4-3 on the year on the mound for the Lions. Alex
currently bats out of the 3-5 hole for the Lions and has connected on two
homeruns in 2003. Defensively, Alex is the starting shortstop for the
Lions. He will be used as both a pitcher and utility infielder this
summer for the Razorbacks.

first win of the season today. Corey pitched a complete game three-hitter

- 2002 Razorback and Webster Co. standout Kalen Gibson is off
to a great start for the Wildcats in 2003. Kalen has appeared in six
games this season recording a 2-0-1 record to date. On the hill, Kalen
has struck out 14 batters in 11.33 innings of work and leads the team with a
0.79 ERA. Kentucky (7-8) open up their
conference schedule today at Mississippi
University in Oxford, MS.

- 2002 Razorback and Webster Co. standout Ike Bridwell
is off to a great start for the Racers. Ike is currently batting .800 on
the season. Ike has excelled at the plate going four for five with two
doubles and four RBI's in limited action. The Racers (5-6) started a
four-game series with Akron University today in Murray, KY.
03/14/2003 - 2002 Razorback and
Southridge standout pitcher David Marcum picked up a victory on the
mound Wednesday (03/12/2003) during the 2003 Gulf Coast Classic in Panama City, FL.
David pitched a complete game allowing a single run in the win.

- Former Black Sox player and Memroial standout Josh Todd is entering his
senior season at Auburn
University. Josh
started 20 games last season at third-base for the Tigers. Prior to Auburn, Josh had never
played third. Josh had spent his first two seasons at Florida
Community College in Jacksonville, FL.
Josh helped lead FCCJ to a fifth place finish at the Junior College World
Series in 2001. He was nominated to the Florida Junior College All-Star
game in 2001 as well. Josh has also excelled academically. He was
named to the Academic All-American team in 2000 & 2001. Auburn (12-3) is currently
ranked 13th in the nation in Division I. More Info.

- Former Black Sox player and Castle standout shortstop Ryan Skinner is off
to a great start at Olney
Central Junior
College. Ryan hit .447 during the fall
season for the Knights. He closed the fall schedule with 21 hits in 52 at
bats. Olney Central is coming off a 39-19 season in 2002.

- 2002 Razorback Ike Bridwell recorded an RBI double in his
first collegiate at bat Sunday against Illinois State.
Ike broke open the scoring for the Racers with a pinch-hit RBI double to
left-center field in the ninth. Ike would later come around to score for

03/03/2003 - Former Black Sox player and Central High School standout Ryan Frazier is off
to a solid start in 2003. Ryan, a senior at the University of Evansville
is hitting .333 (2/6) on the year. Ryan had a pitch hit single for the
Aces yesterday in their 7-1 win over Blackburn.
Ryan will play a reserve role this season for the Aces as he platoons in the
outfield. He will also be used as a back-up catcher. Ryan proved
himself to be a clutch performer at the plate in 2002. He drove home
71.4% (5/7) of the runners from third-base with less then two outs.

- 2002 Razorback Tim Gaddis and the Flagler Saints are off to
a great start in 2003. The Saints are currently (12-2) overall and (5-0)
in the Florida Sun Conference. Flagler started 2003 ranked 29th in the
NAIA Pre-Season poll.

- 2002 Razorback Kalen Gibson picked up his first collegiate
victory on February 28th, 2003 against Marshall University.
Kalen came in as a closer in the eighth to pick up the win. Kalen (1-0)
has appeared in three games for Kentucky
(4-3) this season. He leads the team with a 1.23 ERA through 7.33

in 2003; Texas, Georgia, West Virginia, Virginia, Alabama, Tennessee, New York,

- The Razorbacks are proud to announce that national caliber select travel
programs from Houston, TX
and Mountaineer Park, WV have been added to the 2003 summer
schedule. These two teams were added to our Cincinnati, OH
weekend schedule on July 19th-20th. Houston Kyle-Chapman, TX finished 2002
by qualifying for the Palomino World Series (U18 Division of PONY
Baseball). They won the Palomino World series in 2001 and 1993.
Since 1992, 87 Kyle-Chapman players have went on to sign with Division I
programs including 11 in 2002. More Info. Mountaineer Park, WV
is considered to be one of the stronger travel teams out of the East.. We
will also be competing against the Midland, OH Redskins and Midland,
OH Indians during this weekend as
well. This weekend has evolved into a weekend that with success, could
solidify our program as a Top-20 program in the nation.

- Former Black Sox player and Vincennes Lincoln standout shortstop Clint
Barmes has been invited to the Colorado Rockies spring training. Clint
has earned the right to be a part of the Rockies
40-man roster by completing the 2002 summer as a member of the AA All-Star
Team. Clint finished the season with a team leading 15 homeruns for the

Heard has signed with Indiana-Southeast
University. Matt
closed his two year stint with the Razorbacks with team records in appearances
(28), innings (77.67), wins (10), and saves (4). Indiana-Southeast

02/17/2003 - The Razorbacks are proud to announce that
2004 graduates Cody Gilbert, Cory Julian, and Drew Sellers have
been invited to the Team One North Showcase to be held at Notre Dame Stadium on
July 28th - 30th. Team One is a top four national annual showcase.
Team One is entering its 12th year in 2003. Team One is an invitation
only showcase for 2004 & 2005 graduates. They are designed to
showcase Division I and potential Major League Baseball draft prospects.
They average approximately 100-150 college and pro scouts at each regional
showcase. Since their inception, Team One Regional showcases have
produced hundreds of Major League Draft picks and countless other Division I
signees. Overall, players from Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and the
northeastern states will be invited to attend this showcase.

- The Razorbacks are proud to announce that 2004 graduates Cory Julian and
Drew Sellers have been invited to attend the 2003 Blue/Grey Classic in Williamsburg, VA at
William & Mary
College on August
18th-20th. The Blue/Grey Classic is one of the top four college showcases
held annually in the nation. Blue/Grey is entering its 12th year in
2003. The Blue/Grey Classic is an invitation only showcase. Only
2004 & 2005 Division I and Major League prospects are invited to
attend. Blue/Grey is a well respected showcase and averages approximately
50 college programs from the South, East, and Mid-West. Most, if not all
Major League Baseball scouts are in attendance as well. An example of the
talent and success of this tournament as a showcase can be seen in the 90+ Club and Team Virginia. To view, click on either

three day showcase as member of Team Heartland (I believe). They will be

Razorbacks are proud to announce the addition of Chris Dalton to the
2003 roster. He is a junior at Marion
High School in Marion, IL.
Chris will see time in the outfield and behind the plate for us in 2003.
Chris started as a sophomore in centerfield for Marion in 2002. He closed the season
batting .387 and was 14/14 on stolen bases. Chris will bring explosive
speed to our team. He has been timed (hand-held) at 4.41 in the
40m. He is also a standout football player for Marion
who has been invited to attend the National High School Football Showcase in Hawaii as a member of
Team Midwest.
02/08/2003 - The Razorbacks
are proud to announce the addition of Dustin Phillips to the 2003
roster. Dustin is a senior at Salem
High School in Salem, IL.
Dustin is a versatile player defensively. He has recently signed his
National Letter of Intent to play with Olney Central
Junior College.
Olney Central finished the 2002 season 39-19 overall. Dustin finished the
2002 fall season with a .450 avg and 5 homeruns. Congratulations Dustin.
02/07/2003 - The
Razorbacks are proud to announce the addition of Adam Graber to the 2003
roster. Adam is a senior lefthander from Loogootee, IN.
Adam was a 2002 Pre-Season All-State and 2002 Blue-Chip All-Conference
player. He closed the 2002 season with a 2.20 ERA in 57.33 innings.
He will add experience and depth to our rotation in 2003. He will also
add depth at first-base. Adam is currently being recruited by Marian College
and Vincennes University among others.

Razorback Corey Lewis has signed his National Letter of Intent with Missouri Baptist
College in St. Louis, MO.
Corey is a RHP/1B for Marion High School in Marion,
IL. Missouri Baptist is
currently ranked 11th in the 2003 NAIA pre-season baseball poll. They are
coming off a 46-19 record and American Midwest Conference Championship in
2002. Congratulations Corey.
01/22/2003 - The
Tri-State "Hot-Stove" League Night of Memories will be held on
February 14th, 2003 at the 4-H Grounds in Evansville,
IN. The "Night of
Memories" is a yearly fundraiser for youth sports throughout the Tri-State
area. Featured guests include; Yogi Berra (N.Y. Yankees), Don Mattingly
(N.Y. Yankees), Bob Griese (Miami Dolphins), John Lattner (1953 Heisman Trophy
Winner Notre Dame) among others. The night will include silent and live
auctions as well as raffles. Single admission tickets run $20.00.
At least 50% of that will be donated back to our organization. MUST BE

com. Led by our strong tournament schedule and runner-up finishes in both
the USTOC Father Days Open and N.A.B.F. Mid-West Regional Championships, the
Razorbacks finished the 2002 summer as one of the Top-35 elite programs in the

showcase profiles, there are questions that I can not answer with the
information I have from you (ex. shoe size). I would recommend that each
of you take the time to feel out his player profile on the links bar to the
right. It is located at the bottom of the bar.

added the Perfect Game, Area Code, Team One, and Blue & Grey Showcase
player profiles to the links bar on the right. The nominations, after
research and confirmation of submitted information are what each of these four
national showcases use to invite potential participants. The four
showcases above are the four most respected and followed showcases in the
nation. Thousands of former college and pro players have come directly
from these four organizations. These showcases are by invitation
only. They were designed to showcase the best players regionally and
nationally. I would strongly recommend taking the time to nominate
yourself for all four of these showcases. I would do all the nominations,
but some of the nominations have questions that I can not answer for you (ex.
Define leadership?) While filling out the nominations will not guarantee
you an invitation, it will help to get your name into the heart of the amateur
baseball recruiting market. If any of you need reference's to use on your
applications, I will gladly be one.

Baseball is proud to announce the addition of Steven Burch to the 2003
roster. Steven is a senior at Loogootee
High School in Loogootee, IN.
Steve is the top returning hitter in the Tri-State (.465). On the mound,
Steven finished 2002 with a 1.56 era and 5-2 record. Steven will play on
the left-side of the infield for the Razorbacks and pitch valuable innings.

Dusty has been nominated for the 2003 Mr. Baseball award. Dusty is a
four-year starter at North
Posey High
School. In 2002, Dusty was a Pre-season
All-State selection as a catcher, and finished the regular season with an

2003 summer team. Justin is a senior at Salem

He will be an impact pitcher for us in 2003. Justin is highly regarded in

Pitching and Hitting Clinic instructed by Professional baseball players: Clint
Barmes and Ryan Hutchison. Clint is an infielder in the Colorado Rockies
organization and Ryan is a pitcher in the Phillies organization. Also helping
with the camp is a member of the Pirates organization Shawn Garrett. Great

- Perfect Game Baseball has announced that they will be conducting an open
instructional and evaluation camp on November 23-24 at the Sportszone (Indoor
Facility) in Indianapolis, IN. Turtle Thomas (LSU Coach) and the
Perfect Game staff will run the event. Turtle Thomas is the recruiting
coordinator at LSU. He previously he held that job at Miami, FL
University. He is well known nationally as one of the premier hitting
instructors. The Perfect Game staff will evaluate and complete a written
report for each player. Perfect Game Baseball is considered one of the
premier showcases in the nation. Over 1000 Perfect Game Showcase players
have been taken in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft in the past seven

of the Midland Redskins organization to the 2003 schedule. The Razorbacks
will be traveling to Cincinnati,
OH on July 19-20 to play both the
Redskins and Indians in doubleheaders. Midland is regarded as one of the premier
amateur organizations in the nation. The Midland
organization is recruited nationally and are eight-time Connie Mack Baseball
National Champions. In their 30 year existence, 234 Midland
players have went on to play professional baseball. Midland will provide our players with an
opportunity to compete against some of the best players in the nation. More info

Monarchs on Friday the 27th. We will then play the Alabama Bombers in a

Mark Wahl was drafted in the 48th round by the Baltimore Orioles in 2002 with
the 1411th pick. Mark closed his college career at Dayton
University in Ohio. Mark finished the 2002 season
batting .240 in for the Baltimore Orioles Rookie organization.

Former Black Sox and Forest Park stand-out Andy Rohleder was
drafted in the 24th round by the Florida Marlins in 2002 with the 713th
pick. Andy closed his college career with the University of Evansville.
Andy finished the season with a .308 avg (tied for 5th in league) with an
On-Base-Percentage of .409 (4th in the league).

Ryan Hutchinson completed the 2002 season with the Clearwater Phillies. Clearwater is an affiliate

51.33 innings.

Kalen was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 36th Round in 2002 with the 1083rd
pick. Kalen finished the 2002 high school season with an 11-2 record 0.92
