What is Razorback Baseball?
Razorback Baseball is a traveling 18-under college-prep baseball program. We are an affiliate of the Black Sox Baseball organization. Black Sox Baseball will be entering its thirteenth season in 2005. The main objective of the Razorback team and Black Sox organization is to help our players gain additional exposure while challenging them against some of the best amateur programs the nation has to offer.
Since our inception in 1993, over 80 players have gone on to play at the collegiate level. Our goal as an organization is to help all of our graduating seniors reach their dream of playing college baseball. It is our goal as an organization to help each student-athlete find a school that fits them academically, socially, athletically, and economically. In the past two seasons alone, 96% (27/28) of our graduating seniors have gone on to play at the collegiate level. All thirteen of our 2004 graduating seniors signed baseball scholarships.
Along with putting great emphasis on our college placement, Razorback Baseball is also committed to competing against the best possible competition each year. We strive each season to upgrade our schedule to challenge our players. Since our inception in 1993, our select teams have traveled to compete in select tournaments in the following eight states; North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Tennessee, Missouri, West Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, and Alabama. In doing so, we have had the opportunity to compete against select programs from the following 21 states as well as Canada and Great Britain; Arizona, Texas, Florida, Kansas, Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, New York, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Illinois, Colorado. In the past two seasons alone, our schedule has included 23 teams which went on to participate/place in their respective World Series. Over that same span, the Razorbacks own a tournament record of 31-10 (76%) with two tournament championships while appearing in four tournament championship games.
With such a demanding and competitive schedule, Razorback Baseball recruits annually from approximately a 150 mile radius of Evansville, IN. The best of the best is chosen each year to be invited to play as a Razorback for the following summer season. All nominations are by invitation only. It is our goal to sign the best 18-22 players the Tri-State area has to offer to take the field for us in 2005. Below are the returning seven Razorbacks for the 2005 season.
