Viscomi
and Schelhorn Added to 2008 Razorback Coaching Staff
The
Razorbacks are proud to announce the addition of Jim Viscomi to the 2008
coaching staff. Jim is a senior
at the University
of Evansville. He will take over the third base
coaching position from Andy Miller who will move to Bench Coach for the 2008
season. Welcome Jim to the
Razorback Program.
Jim graduated from Glenbard East High School
in 2004 earning two-time All-Region and All-State honors for the Rams. Jim was a .450 career hitter for the
Rams and swiped 81 bases in his last two years of varsity baseball. Jim signed to play at Junior College
power Parkland College. In his one season with Parkland, Jim
helped lead Parkland to the 2005 NJCAA
Finals. He was selected to the
NJCAA All-Tournament team after hitting .458 with a tournament record nine
stolen bases. Jim led the JUCO
ranks and finished second nationally in college baseball with 74 stolen bases
in 2005. Jim was chosen as a
third-team All-American. He
closed out his freshman season hitting .386 with eleven homeruns, 58
R.B.I.’s and 92 runs
Jim signed at the University of Evansville in 2006. He ranked third in the MVC with 34
stolen bases while hitting .279 in 59 games. He was named to the NCAA All-Regional
team after hitting .381 with two doubles, a triple, six R.B.I.’s, and
seven runs scored. Jim closed out
the 2007 season hitting .374 and led the MVC with 59 runs scored. He again finished third in the league
with 22 stolen bases. He closed
out the season being named to the 1st-Team All-MVC team and also
was named to the Northwoods League All-Star team. Jim injured himself early in the 2008
season and will be back to play for the Aces in 2009.

Add Student Assistant
The
Razorbacks are proud to announce the addition of John Schelhorn to the 2008
coaching staff. John is a
sophomore at the University
of Southern Indiana. John is majoring in Education and is
looking to coach baseball in high school after graduation. John played at Mt. Vernon
High School where he
graduated in 2006. He will be in
charge of charting the pitchers and hitters for the Razorbacks in 2008. He will also help in all off the field
duties for the Razorbacks in 2008.
