Potential Razorback player,

                Congratulations on being selected as a potential Razorback player for the 2009 season.  This nomination has come directly from your success and accomplishments on the baseball diamond.  Razorback Baseball is entering its eighth year as a college-prep traveling baseball program.  It is run under the Black Sox Baseball affiliation.  Black Sox Baseball will be entering its 17th season in 2009.  Since its inception in 1993, Black Sox Baseball has had over 165 collegiate signees, 16 MLB Amateur Draft picks, six College All-Americans, 25 College All-Conference, 70 All-State, 24 Indiana All-South, 32 Kentucky All-West, and 10 Illinois All-South players.

 In 2008 alone, Razorback Baseball graduated fifteen seniors into college baseball programs.  Since 2002, there are 105 former Razorbacks on 54 different college rosters.  Over the past five seasons 79/79 (100%) of our players have received scholarships to continue their baseball careers at the collegiate level.

                Being a college-prep travel program, Razorback Baseball recruits from roughly a 500-mile radius of Evansville, IN.  Our recruiting is done in multiple ways.  I personally try to see as many Tri-State games as time allows.  Our coaching staff sees approximately 30-40 high school games each spring.  I also rely on pro scout, college coach, and high school coach recommendations.  Our organization has established good communication with the regional colleges and universities regarding their potential recruits.  We utilize the college coach’s recommendations strongly in our selection process and anytime we are unable to see a player first hand.  We also pay close attention to the yearly All-Conference, All-Region, All-District and All-State teams.  Since our inception, our program has been comprised of players from over 50 different high schools from throughout the Midwest.

                Over the past seven season’s, Razorback Baseball has established itself nationally as an organization on the rise.  Over the past seven seasons the Razorbacks have defeated the following 32 World Series participants/place winners;

What is Razorback Baseball?

            Razorback Baseball is a traveling 18-under college-prep baseball program.  We are an affiliate of the Black Sox Baseball organization.  Black Sox Baseball will be entering its sixteenth season in 2009 .  The main objective of the Razorback team and Black Sox organization is to help our players gain additional exposure while challenging them against some of the best amateur programs the nation has to offer.

                Since our inception in 1993, over 165players have gone on to play at the collegiate level.  Our goal as an organization is to help all of our graduating seniors reach their dream of playing college baseball.  Our goal is to help each of our players find a program that fits them academically, socially, athletically, and economically.  In the past five seasons alone, 100% (79/79) of our graduating seniors have received scholarships to continue their baseball career at the collegiate level.

                Along with putting great emphasis on our college placement, Razorback Baseball is also committed to competing against the best possible competition each year.  We strive each season to upgrade our schedule to challenge our players.  Since our inception in 1993, our select teams have traveled to compete in select tournaments in; North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Tennessee, Missouri, West Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, Mississippi, and Alabama.  In doing so, we have had the opportunity to compete against select programs from the following 22 states as well as Canada and Great Britain; Arizona, Texas, Florida, Kansas, Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, New York, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Delaware, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Colorado.   With such a demanding and competitive schedule, Razorback Baseball recruits annually from approximately a 500-mile radius of Evansville, IN.  The best of the best are invited to play as a Razorback for the following summer season.  All nominations are by invitation only.  It is our goal to sign the best 18-21 players the Midwest has to offer to take the field for us in 2009.

Strength of Competition

            What type of competition do the Razorbacks play?  Since 2003, the Razorbacks have competed against over 159 MLB Amateur Draft picks, 57 High School All-Americans, fourteen U.S.A. National Team players, and hundreds of Division I, II, III, NAIA, and JUCO players.  Listed over the next few pages are just some of the players we have faced since 2002.
