Potential
Razorback player,
Congratulations
on being selected as a potential Razorback player for the 2011 season. This nomination has come directly from
your success and accomplishments on the baseball diamond. Razorback Baseball is entering its
ninth year as a college-prep traveling baseball program. It is run under the Black Sox
Baseball affiliation. Black Sox
Baseball will be entering its 18th season in 2009. Since its inception in 1993, Black
Sox Baseball has had over 182 collegiate signees, 26 MLB Amateur Draft picks, eight
College All-Americans, 40 College All-Conference, 94 All-State, 29 Indiana
All-South, 53 Kentucky All-West, and 12 Illinois All-South players. In 2011 alone, Razorback Baseball graduated twenty seniors
into college baseball programs. Over
the past eight seasons 128/128 (100%) of our players have received
scholarships offers to continue their baseball careers at the collegiate
level.
Being
a college-prep travel program, Razorback Baseball recruits from roughly a
500-mile radius of Evansville, IN.
Our recruiting is done in multiple ways. I personally try to see as many Tri-State games as time
allows. Our coaching staff sees
approximately 30-40 high school games each spring. I also rely on pro scout, college coach, and high school
coach recommendations. Our
organization has established good communication with the regional colleges
and universities regarding their potential recruits. We utilize the college coach’s
recommendations strongly in our selection process and anytime we are unable
to see a player first hand. We
also pay close attention to the yearly All-Conference, All-Region,
All-District and All-State teams.
Since our inception, our program has been comprised of players from
over 55 different high schools from throughout the Midwest. Along with competing against some of
the best teams in the nation, since 2003 the Razorbacks have faced countless
nationally ranked players by PG Crosschecker.com, over 180 MLB Draft picks including over 18
first-rounders, over 57 High School All-Americans, and fourteen U.S.A.
National Team players.
A
season with the Razorbacks will help you realize where you stack up against
other college-bound student athletes.
We will play a very competitive 35-45 game schedule against some of
the best teams and players the nation has to offer. Over the past six
seasons, the Razorbacks have competed against teams from Colorado,
Texas, West Virginia, Alabama, Tennessee, New York, Delaware, Kansas,
Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky, Georgia, Missouri,
Florida, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, and Canada. I hope you will take the time to look over the enclosed
literature. I appreciate your
time and look forward to seeing you on the field with us in 2012.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Johnson
Head Coach
Razorback Baseball
Strength of Competition
What type of competition do the
Razorbacks play? Since 2003, the
Razorbacks have competed against over 180 MLB Amateur Draft picks, over 57
High School All-Americans, fourteen U.S.A. National Team players, and
hundreds of Division I, II, III, NAIA, and JUCO signees. Listed over the next few pages are
just some of the players we have faced since 2002.
